Welcome to my blog!

Thanks so much for stopping by! I believe that everyone can have a beautiful home without spending a fortune! One of my favorite things to do is find creative ways to re-purpose things I already have on hand, or have picked up at yard sales and thrift stores. Join me as I share with you some of my favorite ideas for crafting and decorating, as well as travel adventures, and fun things that I pick up on my treasure hunts! Much of my work is influenced by my love all things French, nature, and of course shabby chic! I have gotten so many creative ideas from you very talented bloggers out there, and I hope that I can be an inspiration to you as well!

French Country Vintage Pedestal Bowl Redo

Do you love pedestal bowls as much as I do?
Well, for some reason, I'm just crazy about anything on a pedestal! So today I thought I'd share my latest creation with you, a vintage wooden pedestal bowl that I gave a Frenchy makeover to!
But she didn't start out looking so magnifique!  Oh, no!  This is what she began life as!  I've got to thank hubby for finding this one for me!  (I think I need to send him out shopping more often!)
I knew right away when I saw her just what I wanted to do.
So, I began by painting her my favorite creamy white, followed by what I like to refer to as "a generous dose of distressing", to give her that aged over time look.  Then, I went over to the Graphics Fairy (love!) for this gorgeous French label.  Don't you just love it?!
I really love her curvy shape, by the way!
As a special little surprise, I lined the inside with vintage sheet music, which is one another one of my favorite things to work with!
I am so happy with the way she turned out!
Here is one last look.  As much as I love her, I've added her to my Etsy shop, if you care to take a peek!
I'm linking up with Kathleen over at Faded Charm for White Wednesday
and Debra at Common Ground for Vintage Inspiration Friday.
Do be sure to visit, for tons of inspiration!

Hi, I was looking at your post today and scrolled down and found this one. It is really strange because I had just found the wooden stand just like you painted. I had it boxed up not using it any more. I received mine as a wedding gift in 1966. I think it is time it received a makeover. I have searched and searched the Graphics Fairy blog but I cannot find the one you used. Would you be so kind to help me find that one. I really like it. Thank you,
Judi

Donna, this is beautiful. I love what you have done with it. You definitely made it a one time find. Very creative. I love glass pedestals. But this wooden one is really unique. Have a nice day. And by the way, thank you so much for adding me to your blog roll. I'm honored. =)
