Welcome to my blog!

Thanks so much for stopping by! I believe that everyone can have a beautiful home without spending a fortune! One of my favorite things to do is find creative ways to re-purpose things I already have on hand, or have picked up at yard sales and thrift stores. Join me as I share with you some of my favorite ideas for crafting and decorating, as well as travel adventures, and fun things that I pick up on my treasure hunts! Much of my work is influenced by my love all things French, nature, and of course shabby chic! I have gotten so many creative ideas from you very talented bloggers out there, and I hope that I can be an inspiration to you as well!

Sea Shells and Roses

Bonjour Mes Amis,
Each summer I always love to bring out sea shells that we've collected on beach vacations over the years.  Not only do they say "summer is finally here!", but they also serve to bring back many wonderful memories of places we have visited.
So a few weeks ago when I received the most beautiful hand painted shell from a very sweet and oh so talented friend, I could hardly wait to incorporate it into one of my shell vignettes!
I knew right away that I wanted to create a shell display in my glass apothecary jar, that was a garage sale bargain from last summer. You may have seen me use it in various displays thru out the year.
I've placed it on a pretty large silver tray, along with some sand dollars, a little glittered shell and a pretty pink rose.
Ok, now back to the star of my vignette!  Just look at this shell with the most gorgeous hand painted roses!  Isn't it beautiful?  I love the touches of blue that my friend added amongst the roses and leaves.
I think it looks perfect with my sea shell collection!
Oh, I forgot to mention that I added some decorative sand to the bottom of the apothecary jar.  I found a bag of it last year at Jo Ann Fabrics.
Here is another close up of the shell.  Love!!
It's on our dining table, along with a vintage white eyelet runner that I've had forever.
 More shell and rose love!
It's hard to see in the photos, but there is a nice clear glossy coating to the shell, giving it a glass like sheen.
 Here is one last look.
Have a great weekend!
