Frame Love

One of my favorite things to hunt for when I'm out thrifting is pretty picture frames!
Don't you just love the thrill of the hunt?  You really never know what you will find.  Many times I leave empty handed, but sometimes I luck out and find some real beauties!
Well, they don't always start out so lovely.
Oh, no!
I don't have any before shots of the frames that I'm sharing with you here, but most were pretty ho-hum when I first spotted them!

What is even more fun than searching high and low for the frames is painting them, and combing them into pretty sets for my Etsy shop.
This set here is my latest creation.  You will notice a theme here, I just love combing pink and creamy white!!
Frames are one of my best sellers, and it's always so exciting when a buyer tells me they are using them for their babies nursery, or as part of their wedding.
Many of the frames that I find are vintage, like these.
I was super excited to find this gorgeous ornate pair, below.
They are vintage and made in Italy.
 They are simply shabbylicious!!

Even hubby helps me hunt for frames.  He knows now just what to look for!
I almost always include pretty decorative paper or vintage sheet music to the insides of the frames, as I think it makes them even prettier for their photo shoots!

I love mixing my own paint colors, which is what I often do to create lovely shades of pink.

This set below I created awhile back.  I could hardly believe my luck to find a matching set of these vintage metal filigree frames!
 The floral details are amazing!
They were gaudy gold when I found them, and I think they are so much happier painted my signature creamy dreamy white!

I just sold this last set.
So that means only one thing..........
I need to get out and look for more frames to paint!
Thanks for stopping by, hope you have a great day!

Gray, Pink & Cream

Gray is such a popular color these days.  Truth be told, I have never been crazy about gray.  You could even say that it's my least favorite color.  So I surprised myself when I discovered that it's actually growing on me!  I really like it when paired with pale pink and creamy white.  So today I thought I'd share with you some recent creations from my Etsy shop, featuring those colors.

I created this custom set for an Etsy buyer a little earlier this fall, and I really love the way it turned out!
Soft pale gray, light pink and creamy white are the perfect partners, I think!
I especially love the pink frames!
Below is a set that I have listed in my shop right now.  I have so much fun hunting for interesting picture frames that I can paint and transform with a little tlc!  For this set, I painted some of the frames both light gray and a darker charcoal gray.  Two shades of pale pink, as well as creamy antique white pull it all together.

Isn't the little pink daisy frame adorable?

The set below is my most recent creation.  I also added the vintage octagon shaped mirror, as I thought it was a good compliment to the octagon shaped frame.
While it looks like wicker, it actually is a vintage Dart Industries molded plastic frame!

I also really love finding nice shelves to paint, and I always have good luck selling them in my shop. Who couldn't use another shelf (or two, or three!)?
I painted this one a charcoal gray, and really wasn't happy with the look.  I had a bit of a brainstorm, and decided to give it a white washed treatment, and I really love it now!

Ok, are you tired of seeing so many picture frames?  I guess you could say I officially have a frame obsession!
This set includes both vintage and newer frames, and again I paired two shades of gray with the cream and pink.
This set just sold, but you can find the other goodies in my shop, if you care to take a peek!
 Have a great weekend!

Shabby Chic Picture Frames

Hello ladies, I can hardly believe that it's time already for another White Wednesday!
One of my favorite things to do is hunt for interesting picture frames, that I can transform with paint and some tlc.
So today I thought I'd share with you some of my recent creations, all of which I've painted my favorite shade of cream!
I think this has got to be one of my favorite frame collections so far!  I was thrilled to discover not one, but two of the frames that you see on the left (in the above photo), on two separate thrifting trips.  They are made of a very heavy resin like material, similar to Syroco, and really have the look of hand carved wood!
I don't know which I enjoy more, painting and distressing the frames, or hunting for them!!  For this set, I added pages of vintage sheet music.  Love!
I've also mixed in some vintage and newer metal frames. What a difference paint makes!
 Love the details!
The collection below is also a mix of vintage and newer frames, minus the glass.  I really love the look of hanging empty frames, or displaying them on a mantel or shelf.
I found this matching pair at an estate sale. They are really solid, chunky frames, that have an interesting fabric insert that reminds me of linen.  Lots of distressing gives them vintage appeal!
Just look at all of the pretty details!  While I would dearly love to keep all of these frames, I've put them in my Etsy shop, if you want to take a peek!
Thanks for stopping by!
