Welcome to my blog!

Thanks so much for stopping by! I believe that everyone can have a beautiful home without spending a fortune! One of my favorite things to do is find creative ways to re-purpose things I already have on hand, or have picked up at yard sales and thrift stores. Join me as I share with you some of my favorite ideas for crafting and decorating, as well as travel adventures, and fun things that I pick up on my treasure hunts! Much of my work is influenced by my love all things French, nature, and of course shabby chic! I have gotten so many creative ideas from you very talented bloggers out there, and I hope that I can be an inspiration to you as well!

A Few Fun Halloween Projects, and a Giveaway Reminder!

Hellos Ladies!
It sure is hard to believe that September is nearly over, and Halloween is just around the corner!  I thought I would share a few Halloween projects that I made for my booth.  Of course you already probably know that they involve glitter and Mod Podge, my two favorite crafting supplies!
I really love this owl from Karen at the Graphics Fairy.  Doesn't he look spooky?  I had an unfinished wood plaque in a neat shape that I loved, and I thought it would be perfect to create this glittery wall hanging with.  I also found the orange and black patterned paper over at the Background Fairy (Karen's other site).  I began by painting the edges of the plaque black, then decoupaged on the papers, followed by a dusting of glitter.  I really like how it turned out!
A scrap piece of masonite that just happened to be the right size became a cute little hanging.  I just decoupaged this adorable little girl popping out of a pumpkin, which I found over at Moonlight Magic.  A wire hanger, and some crinkly orange seam binding and black raffia (oh, and I can't forget the giltter!), made for an easy, peasy project!!
I really love making glittered jar candles, and I used the same images as I did on the hangings.  Orange, black, and gold crinkly seam binding add a fun touch!  Since I am new at having a booth, and not sure what to expect sale wise, I didn't want to get too carried away making tons of Halloween stuff all at once. If these sell out, I'll get busy and make some more!
They were so much fun to make!  And they look even prettier when lit!
Just as a reminder, my friend Miranda over at Blooming in Alaska is having a giveaway to celebrate her 100 followers!  She is giving away a brand new copy of Flea Market Style, as well as a $25 gift certificate to anything in my Etsy shop.  I know she would be thrilled for you to pop by and say hi (and become one of her followers, hint, hint!).  But hurry, tomorrow is the last day you can enter!  Good luck!!

French Themed Giveaway!

Bon Jour, Mon Amis!
I am so very excited to not only have a 1 year blog-aversary (ok, it was awhile ago, I missed it, what with our cross country move!), but I also have reached the 300 follower mark!  I know that many of you have many more hundreds, if not thousands of followers!  But, while I have never really been about the numbers, I am thrilled none the less!

So, to celebrate, I am having a little French themed giveaway, just for you, my current followers.  Here is what one lucky winner will receive:
A really cute little tin pail, which I have added the most beautiful French label to.  I've added lots of sparkle and shine to this adorable pail with glitter. Not just on the label, but the silk blossom as well, because my motto is "You can never have too much glitter!",
I have also made a wonderfully smelling lavender sachet, with my favorite blue and white toile barkcloth fabric.  I've embellished the sachet with vintage crocheted trim, and a vintage Mother of pearl button.  Tres magnifique!
Because I know that all of you ladies are oh, so creative, I have also put together one of my "Creative Inspirations" kits, just for you, and is full of crafting potential!  I'm sharing with you some of my vintage sheet music collection, some of which I've printed off amazing graphics on (love the Madonna and Child print!), and some of my favorite crinkly seam binding.  Also vintage dictionary and French book pages, and some blank tags that I have aged, as well as some lovely dainty vintage lace!
A cute little birdie tag, with a bit of rhinestone bling!
I am also including a whole slew of pretty embellishments that I created for the winner, made from vintage French book pages that I have stamped with some of my favorite bird themed images. And, a couple of unique bird stickers, too!  So, that should keep you busy for awhile!
The winner will also receive a set of 8 of my vintage wooden clothespins, that I have decoupaged with pages from a vintage French book, and glittered (of course!).  Oooh, la, la!
(sorry, the postcards are not included!  I just can't part with them!!)
Entering is super easy!  All you need to do is leave me one comment on this post, if you are a current follower as of today!  That's it!  I will draw the winning name next Friday, May 27th.  If I can't figure out the random generator thingy, then I will do it the old fashioned way and draw the name out of a bowl!!!  Good luck, and thanks again!!!

I also wanted to share with you some surprises that I received yesterday from my sweet friend Cindy, from Cindy Adkins Whimsical Musings.  Cindy is not only super talented, but is one of the most generous, kind hearted kindred spirits that I have ever met!  My birthday is next week, and Cindy sent me the best gifts!!!
Cindy knows how much I love all things French, especially Paris!  Just look at the gorgeous journal that she made me!  Be still my heart!
She also made me the most beautiful card, embellished with fleur de lis (which I also adore!). And, if that were not enough, she also sent me a Coach luggage tag!  I've never owned Coach anything, so I was very excited about that!  I can hardly wait to take a trip (Paris, maybe?!) so that I can use it!  Thank you so much, Cindy! I was feeling a bit low and homesick yesterday, so this truly gave me a huge, much needed lift!
If you have never visited Cindy's blog, be sure to check it out!  She also has an amazing Etsy shop, which you can see here!
