Welcome to my blog!

Thanks so much for stopping by! I believe that everyone can have a beautiful home without spending a fortune! One of my favorite things to do is find creative ways to re-purpose things I already have on hand, or have picked up at yard sales and thrift stores. Join me as I share with you some of my favorite ideas for crafting and decorating, as well as travel adventures, and fun things that I pick up on my treasure hunts! Much of my work is influenced by my love all things French, nature, and of course shabby chic! I have gotten so many creative ideas from you very talented bloggers out there, and I hope that I can be an inspiration to you as well!

Fabric from Provence!

Look what I won!  I am so excited!  You all know how much I adore all things French.  Well, today I discovered that I won this beautiful fabric straight from Provence, compliments of Morgane over at Bear, Dolly and Moi!
What a wonderful surprise!  Now I can't say that I never win anything!  I think I will make some pretty napkins with some of the fabric, and maybe some little sachets stuffed with the lavender I brought back with us when we were in Paris in May.  I was checking out some of the lovely things that Morgane did with the fabric.  She made some beautiful pillows you can check out here, as well as a gorgeous placemat you can read about here.  Thanks so much, Morgane!  I can hardly wait!

A few minutes ago, I was standing at the kitchen window, and saw the sweetest thing in our backyard!  A "junior" cardinal (that's what I call birds that are neither babies or adults :) !) was being fed by its mother!  And papa cardinal had to sweep in for a visit!
I ran and got our camera (our new camera, that I still need to figure out!), and managed to snap this shot!  That's "junior" on the left.  Mama would pick seeds up in her beak, which had fallen to the ground from the bird feeder hanging right above them.  "Junior" would squeak and chirp til Mama would deposit the seeds in his mouth!  So adorable!  Looks like papa thought he had to supervise!
I got one last shot as mama flew off.  Guess she decided she was tired of feeding her little one!

Hope you all are having a great day!

Wow, Donna! I'm so happy for you!!! This is awesome! On the first of the month, Frenchy has a challenge of all "French" things--you might want to link up...her button is on my left side bar..she's a doll! I bet she'd love seeing this fabric.

And the birds are so precious...and what beautiful colors...wow!
Sending hugs,
Cindy

Donna, you're so lucky to have won these gorgeous fabrics! Whatever you do with them, save every bit and piece as we could make something with those pieces added to more scraps that I have....maybe a small wall-hanging or table mat.??

The cardinals are so gorgeous. They're my favorite bird. I do think they are quite social...we have several who visit us.

Hugs, Karen

I love love love the fabric!!!! I'm so jealous/happy for you!! :) :) I really wanted to buy some fabric while I was in Provence, but it's so pricey, especially if you don't know what you're going to make with them right off the bat! :)

Congratulations!! :)

Those birds are so precious. I have the hardest time getting a good shot of the cardinals in my yard.
