Welcome to my blog!

Thanks so much for stopping by! I believe that everyone can have a beautiful home without spending a fortune! One of my favorite things to do is find creative ways to re-purpose things I already have on hand, or have picked up at yard sales and thrift stores. Join me as I share with you some of my favorite ideas for crafting and decorating, as well as travel adventures, and fun things that I pick up on my treasure hunts! Much of my work is influenced by my love all things French, nature, and of course shabby chic! I have gotten so many creative ideas from you very talented bloggers out there, and I hope that I can be an inspiration to you as well!

The Eagle Has Landed

Hello everyone, hope you had a great day!
Just a quick post today, thought I would share our resident eagle with you!

Ok, it's not a  real eagle, but it has been carved from a tree in our backyard!
We actually have seen bald eagles fly by, including one this morning!  It is so exciting to see them, and I hope to be able to one day capture a shot with my camera so that I can share it with you.
I love how the ivy is growing up it!  Speaking of wildlife, we've been told by neighbors that they often see whales.  We haven't seen any yet, but I can hardly wait 'til we do!  The other night we saw a sea otter.  It is thrilling to be able to witness such amazing wildlife right from inside our home!

Ok, I hope that you don't get tired of seeing this view, 'cause I think I will be showing it alot to you!  I just finished setting up my craft room, which is on the lower level of our new house.  It's a walk out, so the room gets lots of natural light, and this is the view from my windows!!

Ok, on a different note, I am excited, no, thrilled to see that I am approaching 300 followers!  I think as I write this I am at 291.  Anyway, as soon as I reach 300, I am going to have a giveaway, just for you, my current followers, as a little thank you!  So, stay tuned for more details!

In the mean time, go out and create something, paint something, or just do something nice for someone!  Because that is what we bloggers are best at, isn't it?

Wow Donna! your creative juices must be exploding with such beauty around you! Glad you are settling in. Don't forget you will be near Puyallup now and should go to the Heirloom Arts show in May mid month I think. I have to look it up.

I have yet to capture a bald eagle! They nest on the open land across from our home. I walked by neighbours the other day and he was sitting at the side of her pond!!
I haven't seen whales but every morning i hear the seals barking! Stupid me thought they were dogs barking for the longest time lol!!!! My neighbour finally told me it's seals. I'm used to going to Marineland to see marine life not my own yard!!! Oh are the treefrogs keeping you awake? They are soooo loud here!!

How are you fairing Donna? Did you get through Easter okay? I found it hard. That's the tough part...holidays!
You seem to be adjusting well which is great!!

Awww...I see my sweeet little Pammiecakes found you (er I mean Pamela).. I am soo happy that you are liking your view...and you are sounding much more upbeat now that you have the house cleaned and are getting set up. A year of adventure, Donna...a year of adventure. We have eagles here too and the place next door to us is called The Eagle's Nest. However, the only whales we see are the kind with bathing suits...which is why I, personally, will not be caught dead in a suit this year! xxoo Diana

You actually sound like you are happy to be there! Now you just don't see all of that in Michigan! Yep- your summer camp sounds like so much fun! Love your woody eagle.
But- seriously- watch out for Big Foot! Keep your camera ready just in case he comes to see you.
LOL
I see NanaDiana has already been here and making rude comments about whales in bathing suits. Well, she couldn't wear one right now without long johns anyway!
DO NOT GLITTER THE WILDLIFE! I think it's against the law, or should be. Either way, it's wrong.
Hugs- Tete

Didn't I tell you that you would fall in love with this area? I can see that it's happening already..
Now i've seen lots of whales and eagles, etc. but in all my years here, never saw an otter in the wild- you've one-upped me already!
Have fun and enjoy yourself....

Hope you see a whale soon, it's going to be super exciting, and the otters are very cute. I love wildlife, but I don't like skunks, the other day one sprayed very close to our house, we were coming back from a trip and had to unload all the things in to the house, they are soooo stinky that my husband and I got nauseous and threw up. I hope you don't have skunks around although they seem to be everywhere. That carved eagle is very pretty, some talented people out there.
Have a fantastic day.
