Welcome to my blog!

Thanks so much for stopping by! I believe that everyone can have a beautiful home without spending a fortune! One of my favorite things to do is find creative ways to re-purpose things I already have on hand, or have picked up at yard sales and thrift stores. Join me as I share with you some of my favorite ideas for crafting and decorating, as well as travel adventures, and fun things that I pick up on my treasure hunts! Much of my work is influenced by my love all things French, nature, and of course shabby chic! I have gotten so many creative ideas from you very talented bloggers out there, and I hope that I can be an inspiration to you as well!

Vintage Inspired Easter Banner

With all of the cold and snowy weather many are experiencing all around the country, Easter and signs of spring sure seem a long way off!
It's a cold and rainy day here in Savannah, but at least it's warmer than it is back home!
So today I thought I would try and give you a little springy lift by sharing with you my Easter banner that I just made.
One of my favorite things to do when we travel in the motor home is create with paper!
I found a black chipboard banner a few weeks ago at Hobby Lobby, and at 1/2 off, I just had to pick one up!
This is my first attempt at "pennant style" banners, and I had so much fun with it!
I also had fun with my mini photo shoot inside of our motor home:)

I first searched for cute vintage Easter graphics on Pinterest, and found so many, it was hard to chose which ones that I wanted to use!  I printed out some of my favorites, then cut the out.
Using just a glue stick, I covered the fronts of each pennant with vintage sheet music, and the backs with pretty scrap
booking paper in pastel shades.
With the same scrap book paper, I cut out a scalloped edge and glued to the tops of each pennant, then added the sweet Easter images.

I strung them all together with pale pink crinkly seam binding, and am so happy with how my first pennant attempt turned out!
You can't see it well in the photos, but I used "stickles" clear iridescent glitter glue to add a shimmery touch here and there.
(because you can never have too much glitter!)
And to bottom every other pennant I added a glittery silk pale yellow blossom.
Isn't this little bunny, below, just the cutest ever?!
I think it will look perfect hanging from the hutch in my craft room.
I can hardly wait to make more!
Soon we will be heading back to the frozen tundra of the midwest!
I have a feeling that spring will be a long time coming in Michigan!
Thanks for visiting today, I hope my post helped not only inspire you to create a banner, but give you hope for the spring to come!

More Shopping Fun!

Bonjour, y'all!
The other day I shared with you my little shopping expedition to "Two Women and a Warehouse" here in Savannah.  Today I went to their original downtown location, and thought I'd share a few pics with you!
Isn't the backdrop of this booth fun?  Love the white parasols!
Each booth is full of plenty of eye candy, including painted furniture, vintage finds, and upcycled treasures.
Many pieces are painted my favorite shades of blue and aqua, like this pretty vintage headboard and table, below.
I love, love, love this light blue shelf, below!  I told my handy hubby he needed to make me one just like it!
Isn't this vintage kitty pitcher and mugs just darling?
I was more than temped to buy this gorgeous small wooden cabinet, painted my favorite French blue.
Wouldn't this hall tree be perfect in an entry?
I was drooling over this gorgeous painted buffet, below!  Look to the left above it, their is a super cool hanging light made from a vintage metal olive bucket.
Such a pretty shade of aqua blue, I think!
Of course I couldn't resist sharing a few pics of Katie back at the motor home!
Our dining table is a banquette, which folds down to a bed (the master is in the back of our 'bus").
Anyway, hubby and I sit on one side of the banquette, and Katie often sits on the other while we eat.
Yes, she is one pampered pooch:)
Who could say no to that cute little face?!
Just look at those woe begone eyes:)
 "Woof, y'all!"

Shopping Fun In Savannah

Care to join me for a little retail therapy today?  One of my favorite places to shop in Savannah is
the fun and funky "Two Women and a Warehouse".  Today I visited their newest second location in town, the original shop being downtown.
This cute pink vintage trailer and convertible are painted on the front of the building.
(sorry for the shadow on the lower portion of the pic!)

Not only is it very large, but each booth has tons of amazing treasures that are oh so tempting to take home!
I really loved all of the wonderful painted furniture, including this gorgeous aqua blue and creamy white dresser, below.
Loving this beautiful light blue antique buffet.  I can see why it sold!!
Look closely at the booth below.  Suspended from the ceiling is a vintage small bed spring, strung with tiny clear lights.  I thought that was such a fun idea!
Loved this pretty stenciled table, below!
I thought this fabric pennant in pretty pastels was so sweet.
I was totally drooling over this gorgeous creamy white painted breakfront!  It was decoupaged with vintage sheet music, and so me!
So many fun and creative vignettes to admire.  It's clear that there is plenty of talent here!
This booth, below, had the best collection of jadeite that I've ever seen.
I didn't get a photo of it, but they also had a huge set of jadeite spice jars.
Wouldn't this pretty aqua blue bench, made from a vintage headboard, be perfect in an entry or mudroom?

I really loved the wooden crates, below.  They were painted and stenciled, and would be perfect in my craft room storing supplies!

Many of the booth structures and props were as fun to admire as their actual contents!
Loved this gorgeous white painted dresser!
And I was more than drooling over the booth below.  I could easily fill our entire motor home (and then some!) with goodies to take back home!
Stop by in a few days, and I'll share pics of the downtown Two Women and a Warehouse!
Thanks for going shopping with me:)!

Sights Around Savannah

Savannah is such a beautiful city, full of many gorgeous and grand old homes.
I just love the ornate framed windows on this house, below.
Notice the pretty iron grill work, too.

I love the fact that no home is alike!  These grand old mansions are full of so much charm and character, I think!
Love the porch on this beauty, below.
It's been such a treat to see green grass and trees in the middle of winter!
The trees are starting to blossom!  Back at home there is still alot of snow!
There are also lovely parks and squares at every turn, featuring monuments, fountains, and more.
The monument below is so tall, I could hardly get it all in my photo!
The beautiful fountain at Forsyth Park is one of the cities landmarks.
 Lots of history here.

Below is Chippewa Square, where a scene from "Forrest Gump" was filmed.  It was when Tom Hanks was sitting on the park bench eating chocolates.  I just love that movie!  What you may not know is the park bench was really a movie prop, and is now in a museum.  Many site seeing tours stop here.
 Pretty churches.
I just loved the red front door of this home, below, and the live topiaries, too.
Wishing you all a Happy Valentine's Day!
