Welcome to my blog!

Thanks so much for stopping by! I believe that everyone can have a beautiful home without spending a fortune! One of my favorite things to do is find creative ways to re-purpose things I already have on hand, or have picked up at yard sales and thrift stores. Join me as I share with you some of my favorite ideas for crafting and decorating, as well as travel adventures, and fun things that I pick up on my treasure hunts! Much of my work is influenced by my love all things French, nature, and of course shabby chic! I have gotten so many creative ideas from you very talented bloggers out there, and I hope that I can be an inspiration to you as well!

Camping Along the Pacific Northwest Coast

Hello everybody!  Hope you all are having a great week.  Hubby and I are on day two of our road trip, working our way back home to Michigan.  Last night we camped at Cape Disappointment State Park,  right on the coast in Washington (our last night in Washington State for awhile, sniff, sniff!).  The campground was just gorgeous, our spot was literally steps away from the Pacific Ocean, and an amazing beach.  It's been cold, rainy and very windy, but we still managed to take some nice long walks on the beach.
There were tons of tiny baby shore birds this morning on the beach.  They were so cute!
Cape Disappoinment lighthouse.  I love lighthouses, don't you?!
Here's moi and our furry girl Emily.  She just loves to run free on the beach!

Crossing over into Oregon this morning on the Astoria bridge, a 4 mile long truss bridge, the longest in North America.
We stopped at Cannon Beach, which is famous for their huge rock formations on the beach.  It was amazing!  Just wish that the weather had cooperated!
There are some pretty spectacular homes right on Cannon Beach.  I would be happy living in this one!
 Or this one!
Tonight we are camping just down from Cannon Beach.  This gorgeous beach is just a few minutes walk from our campsite. The beach goes on for miles and miles!
Emily and her Daddy having fun!
The pictures just don't do justice to how pretty it is here.  Notice all of the sand dunes?
Tomorrow we are headed to Tillamook, Oregon, where we will take a tour of the Tillamook Cheese factory.  Their famous cheese is some of the best ever!  And their black cherry ice cream is delish!
After that, we head over to Portland, then make our way to Idaho.  We are really loving our new motor home, and are so happy that we have a chance to explore this gorgeous country of ours as we make our way home!  I'll be sure to keep you posted of more of our adventures on the road!

I am so glad you are having a good tie, Donna. It is wonderful that you can take your time heading home and not have to be so rushed. It hasn't been wonderful weather here anyway so you aren't missing much.

The places you have been are just beautiful. Take good care and drive safe...xo Diana

What lovely photos. A pity that the weather didn't co-operate but the mistyness adds to its character I think. Enjoy. Joan

I love the picture of Emily and her daddy-so cute! My husband grew up in Newport, Oregon and refuses to eat cheese unless it is Tillamook! Have a safe drive the rest of the way home!

Your photos are just breathtaking! I don't know the West coast very well at all {one day in Seattle~it rained!}. I would love to have all the comforts of a motor home. At first I thought you meant you were camping in a tent! Duh!!

Have a lot more good times...it has been hot and cold here, just crazy as usual. We are going to the lake tomorrow, hope it doesn't rain!

XO,
Jane

Hi Donna, John and Emily.....

I LOVE the pictures! Wonder why that place was called Camp Disappointment?!! Maybe because those who had to leave were disappointed? It looks gorgeous.

Since your pictures are so great, maybe you should consider enlarging them and framing to hang?

Have a wonderful trip!

Love, Karen
