Welcome to my blog!

Thanks so much for stopping by! I believe that everyone can have a beautiful home without spending a fortune! One of my favorite things to do is find creative ways to re-purpose things I already have on hand, or have picked up at yard sales and thrift stores. Join me as I share with you some of my favorite ideas for crafting and decorating, as well as travel adventures, and fun things that I pick up on my treasure hunts! Much of my work is influenced by my love all things French, nature, and of course shabby chic! I have gotten so many creative ideas from you very talented bloggers out there, and I hope that I can be an inspiration to you as well!

Vintage French Graphics And Glitter!

What are your favorite crafting supplies?  Paint?  Paper?  Or fabric, perhaps?

Well, for me any project that involves glitter, wonderful graphics from The Graphics Fairy, and Mod Podge, and  I am happy as a clam!
It's no secret that I am in love with glitter!  No, make that obsessed with glitter!  So I had alot of fun with the project that I'm going to share with you today.

I had a stash of cute little tin pails that I never really did anything with.  Then the other day, inspiration struck, and this is what I created!
I found some beautiful French labels over at The Graphics Fairy.  Aren't they just gorgeous?
A healthy dose of glitter, some wonderfully crinkly seam binding (another one of my obsessions!), and silk hydrangea blossoms, that I added glitter to, of course, and Ooooh, La, La!!!
My favorite label is the one below.  I just love the colors!
It was a nice and sunny day yesterday here in the Pacific Northwest (no rain, yeah!), so I took advantage of the weather and had a little photo shoot outside!
I am so happy with the way these little pails turned out!  I can't wait to make some more!
I think there are so many uses for them, too. They would be perfect in a craft room as an attractive way to hold supplies.  Or maybe in the bathroom to store cotton balls and swabs.  Or, just sitting on a shelf looking cute!!
I know that some of you are hesitant to use glitter (ok, it can be a bit messy!), but I hope that I can motivate you to give it a try:)  Who knows, maybe you will become a glitter addict like me!!

I'm going to be putting these two pretty pails in my Etsy shop.
And here is one last look!

On a side note:  If you have been following me for a little while, you know how difficult it was for me to move from my home state of Michigan to my new home away from home, Washington State.  Well, I really want to thank you all for your encouragement, prayers, and support!  I am surprised at how quickly I have come to love it here (ok, the rain, not so much!), and I have been enjoying making our house a home.  So, I know that it was you all that played a huge part of making me feel at home here!  It is so comforting to know that we can all stay connected, no matter where we live, isn't it?

I am linking this project up with the following fun parties:

Hello Donna,
I love, love glitter, those pails look fantastic. I sold a few of my glittery items at the craft show, but not like I expected. Here's a question for you: Do you have to seal the glitter after you apply it and let the modge podge dry? I noticed that my signs and monograms were leaving glitter all over and now that I see your pails just came to me, may be I need to seal it to prevent it from falling, is that what you do?
Have a lovely day!

I love glitter too! Your things are fun!!
Funny that you mention it, today I went to work in a new black jacket. Someone said to me, "did you hug someone?" I had glitter all over one side of me. Then I remembered that I had read one of my Mother's day cards that had glitter all over it. I must have rubbed it on me inadvertantly. Ha!
Your's is prettier!!

Donna, these are SO cute! The tree you hung them on is perfect. I'm so glad you're busy and settling in. Your rental house seems to be a home (at least for now) and I'm sure you'll enjoy yourselves there with all there is to see!

Love them! And I have to give you credit for cutting out some of those labels. I have used them before and cutting around all the bends is not easy. Thanks for the inspiration - I have some buckets that would look fab like this!

Hi Donna,
I'm so glad that you are getting settled in to your new place. It's a sure sign that you are happy when you start creating such lovely things as your glittered buckets. I really like the graphics and I've never thought of using glitter, but it works wonderfully.

Great idea.

I love how you improvised the packaging of each bucket. It has somehow a classy feel to it especially with the addition of the vintage labels and glitters. You really do have a creative side! I once did something similar to this. I used some old tires and painted them with my own design and used them to hold plants and flowers. My husband loved them because they are just so vibrant to look at, and the old tires didn’t go to waste.
