Welcome to my blog!

Thanks so much for stopping by! I believe that everyone can have a beautiful home without spending a fortune! One of my favorite things to do is find creative ways to re-purpose things I already have on hand, or have picked up at yard sales and thrift stores. Join me as I share with you some of my favorite ideas for crafting and decorating, as well as travel adventures, and fun things that I pick up on my treasure hunts! Much of my work is influenced by my love all things French, nature, and of course shabby chic! I have gotten so many creative ideas from you very talented bloggers out there, and I hope that I can be an inspiration to you as well!

Greetings From Montana

Hello ladies!
We have made it as far as Montana.  They don't call it "Big Sky" for nothing!  After 5 long days on the road in our motor home (pulling hubby's car) we are really, really tired!  But, we have been rewarded with the most gorgeous scenery here in Montana!
This is my first time in Montana, and after driving for hours and hours and seeing nothing but boring brown prairie  (below), this is the view that we came upon (above)!
Mile after mile of nothing but this!  Ugh!
These are the "Crazy Mountains".  Pretty funny, huh?  And pretty appropriate, considering that I was going crazy just thinking about our move to Washington State!!
Yesterday, we went to Mount Rushmore while we were in South Dakota.  It was just gorgeous!
We woke up to several inches of snow yesterday!  Luckily I thought to pack some warm clothes, and my winter coat and boots!

Mt. Rushmore is so much grander in person than in the pictures.  I am so glad that we took the time to stop and see it!!
We also went to see the Crazy Horse monument.  It is very impressive, even though there still is much work to be done!

Tomorrow we should make it to Idaho.  It is great to be visiting all of these states that I have never been to. And we should reach our final destination in Washington by Sunday.  It will feel so good to finally get there!

My dear sweet friend Diana, whose blog is called 'Nana Diana Takes a Break", wrote the most wonderful blog post yesterday.  Diana is one of the kindest, sweetest and most thoughtful people that I have met here in blogland!  Anyway, Diana did a post about my move, and what I have been going thru.  You can read about it here if you want to.  I was so deeply moved and touched!  Thank you, Diana, for your kindness and friendship!  It means the world to me, and so do you!!!

I was thinking of you today and wondering how things have been and then all of a sudden there you are! :-) Montana is Big Sky country isn't it? Beautiful! It is great you have been able to do some sight seeing along the way and were able to see some great monuments. Your journey is almost over, hang in there and be safe!

You folks really are taking the 'scenic route', aren't you..I always hope that some day i'll get to see the Crazy Horse monument, it looks wonderful in pictures..
Have a great 'rest of your trip' and welcome (a bit early, I know!) to the beautiful North West Coast, where scenery will be an everyday occurence, you will be so blase about it after a while!

Hi Donna! Your photos are wonderful! Glad you are getting to see some new things as you go. Sunday will be here before you know it and you can start to settle in your new home away from home.
I know you are going to have an exciting year and by the time it is over, you are going to be sad to leave there. It's going to go by so fast, just wait and see.
Hugs- Tete
PS- Loved Diana's post about you! She is so sweet!

That is quite a drive, be safe and let us know when you arrive to Washington. Love your pictures of Mount Rushmore, we were supposed to take a trip there in March, but we decided to postpone it due to the snow on the way. Drive carefully.
Have a great and safe travel

Oh Donna, what beautiful pictures! I am so happy you are taking the time to see some wonderful places on your journey west. You will be back in Michigan before you know it so just think of this as a great adventure in your life...and lots to blog about! I am hoping you will get down to southern California while you are on the west coast. It would be great fun to meet up with each other. My prayers are with you and I have a feeling this temporary move is going to turn out to be a very positive thing in your life. Your sweet little fur baby wants you to be happy. The house you rented looks wonderful. What a gorgeous view. Keep us posted and enjoy everything...it's only temporary and it will go so fast. I'm looking forward to hearing about all your adventures.
