Today I wanted to share with you a jewelry organizer that I just sold in my Etsy shop. I'm afraid that I don't have a before picture of it (I know, bad blogger!), but it started out life as a very boring picture frame. I began by painting it a nice and creamy white (of course!), then distressed a bit and followed with Ralph Lauren's antiquing glaze. I had hubby cut a piece of wood to fit the inner dimensions of the frame. I then took my favorite blue and white toile fabric, and adhered it with spray mount adhesive. I picked up this gorgeous fabric a few years ago on a trip to the Big Island of Hawaii (it's so funny, because you just don't think of toile and Hawaii together!), and have used it in so many different projects. It has a great bark cloth texture that I really love. I am almost out of this pretty fabric, sounds like a great excuse to return to Hawaii!
The nobs are actually repurposed drawer knobs, that I spray painted Heirloom White. I then used a bit of Rub-n-Buff in antique gold to highlight all of the wonderful details of the nobs.
Hubby drilled holes in the wood so that I could screw in the nobs (it's so nice to have a handy, helpful hub!).
I really love the way it turned out! I think I'll have to make some more, but first, a trip to Hawaii is in order!!
Have a great night, now it's time to get caught up with all of your lovely blogs!

What a great idea and how wonderful you have your hubby to help you out.
Thank you for sharing!

Love it, Donna-What a great use for an old frame. I'd say a Hawaii trip was in order...you certainly czn't find that at JoAnne's Fabrics (liar, liar..you probably can but if you want to go to Hawaii again don't let on). I just picked up an old frame to make into a tray. I'm not sure what it was in it's previous life but it is begging for handles and fabric.
Have a wonderful evening. I am back at work tomorrow...;<{ oh wait...I mean ;>) Hugs- Diana
Very nice idea, and pretty.
Beautiful Donna. Love this piece, especially the toile.
Hi Donna, Thanks for stopping by my blog and your nice comments. Very pretty jewelry organizer.
Oh my WORD! Not only is this GORGEOUS, but I just saw some pretty knobs the other day half off and was racking my brain on how to use them....this would be PERFECT! I am definitely going to have to try this out, and when I do, I'll definitely credit/link you!
Wonderful! A perfect way to use up beautiful knobs and an old frame. I need one of these but am too busy making the jewelry to hang on it!
It's just exquisite! And I love what you did with it--ingenious!

You're going where? I am sad...
But I love this idea and love those knobs!
I looked in the phone book for a GA group and we don't have one. Maybe Glitter Anon will catch on here soon.
Hugs you crazy girl- Tete
This turned out neat-not sure of the before-but the after certainly is wonderful. Love all the different details-perfect touch for someone's room!
Great idea Donna! I love all of the elements and details that you brought out:)
This is a beautiful repurpose of an old frame. No wonder it sold out of your etsy shop so quickly!!
