Welcome to my blog!

Thanks so much for stopping by! I believe that everyone can have a beautiful home without spending a fortune! One of my favorite things to do is find creative ways to re-purpose things I already have on hand, or have picked up at yard sales and thrift stores. Join me as I share with you some of my favorite ideas for crafting and decorating, as well as travel adventures, and fun things that I pick up on my treasure hunts! Much of my work is influenced by my love all things French, nature, and of course shabby chic! I have gotten so many creative ideas from you very talented bloggers out there, and I hope that I can be an inspiration to you as well!

Sights of the South

Bonjour Ya'll!
We're still camping here in South Georgia, taking a much needed break from the cold and snowy arctic Midwest!  Today we visited downtown Valdosta, and had lunch at the nicest restaurant called "Steel Magnolias" (love the name!).

I also love the quote on their chalkboard!!
Cute little outdoor tables, with chairs painted my favorite shade of aqua blue.
I'd read many good reviews of the restaurant on line, and knew this was a place after my own heart, as soon as I spotted those cute folding chairs!
I also fell in love with all the gorgeous mirrors on the wall!
The wall behind me had the neatest wallpaper, again with that pretty aqua.
Our lunch was delish, we will definitely eat there again!
Below are some photos I snapped of a cute shop we went in.  It was full of all sorts of painted furniture and home decor.  I was a bit shy to snap any photos inside, so these are of their window displays.
 Love that neat birdcage!
Great vintage furniture transformed with chalk paint.
I fell in love with this Frenchy chair!
The next photo I took in another nearby town.  It's their courthouse,  I really loved that amazing architecture and the neat silver dome.
Ok,back home at the rv, here is our Katie taking a little break.
She loves camping, and especially loves the long hikes we've been taking her on each day!
I'll be sure to share more photos with you in future posts.
Have a great weekend!

Hi dear Donna. What a great trip you have. LOVE that chair too. I see I have missed some posts here. Have been very busy and lazy visiting blogland.
You have plenty snow back home. Can you imagine, we have nothing here, so far.

Wish you a great weekend

Hugs from here

Great photos. Good picture of you and your little girl. Her second picture looks like she is listening to you about something. The sunshine looks so warm. Stay where it is warm.

What a wonderful place to be. I so remember your trip from last year, so I know you will have a wonderful time there. Happy Birthday to Katie! Enjoy the sunshine and all the hikes, the fun shops and of course all of the great food you find! Soak up some warmth for me!

I just went back to check to see if my memory was right before I said anything. It was this trip last year that Emily crossed over. Amazing how much healing can happen when you open your heart to a new love, especially if that new love comes with a wagging tail...you know Katie was born just for you. God knew your arms would soon be empty and he made her extra cute. ;)

I bet you are gathering lots of creative ideas.
Katie is a doll too and looks right at home in the rv.
So glad you are having fun and enjoying better weather.
We hit 75 degrees yesterday. Yahoo it was great!! But Superbowl will bring us cold and possibly ice. Can you believe that??
Have a great weekend.

Hi Donna, I am so glad to hear you escaped the cold. I'm shivering just thinking about it. That shop looks like it had tons of goodies, but I know what you mean by snapping photos. Thanks for sharing what you did. Have a great time with your precious little Katie.
