Welcome to my blog!

Thanks so much for stopping by! I believe that everyone can have a beautiful home without spending a fortune! One of my favorite things to do is find creative ways to re-purpose things I already have on hand, or have picked up at yard sales and thrift stores. Join me as I share with you some of my favorite ideas for crafting and decorating, as well as travel adventures, and fun things that I pick up on my treasure hunts! Much of my work is influenced by my love all things French, nature, and of course shabby chic! I have gotten so many creative ideas from you very talented bloggers out there, and I hope that I can be an inspiration to you as well!

French Themed Photo Board

Bonjour Mes Amis,
I thought I'd take a bit of a break today from my planned Christmas post, and share instead with you one of my latest projects.
A vintage French photo board!  This was such a fun project, and while I made this one for my Etsy shop, I definitely want to make one for myself, too!
I began with a masonite board that hubby cut for me in an oblong shape. I then decoupaged pages of a vintage French book.  I love the sepia tones of the book pages.
I then added some beautiful pink fabric tape to the to and bottom of the board.  I really love this fabric tape, it has the sweetest little pink and blue flowers, as well as green leafy vines.  After aging some clothespins just a bit, I had hubby apply them to the board with screws (I was afraid an adhesive might not give the permanent hold that I wanted.)
 Here's a close up.
To give it a slightly rustic touch, I've hung the board from a wire. The wire could easily be removed and replaced with a ribbon, which I think would be pretty, too!
Not only could you use the board to display photos, but postcards or mementos too.  I think it would make a great inspiration board!

I really love the end result!
I'll be sharing with :
Becky over at Timewashed for Blissful Whites Wednesday.
Debra at Common Ground for Vintage Inspiration Friday.
Courtney at French Country Cottage for Feathered Nest Friday.

Very fun! Love the fabric and the french pages. I'm surprised there isn't glitter on the clothes pins! (hee hee). Your new blog header is fabulous too.

Beautiful, I like the shabby chic of the ribbon mixed with a bit of the rustic wire & clothespin look.

I love this idea! You could even paint the close pins your frenchy blue for a whole different effect!
I think it would be great to have one for Christmas cards! You could pin 2 or 3 to each clothes pin, even. That would look cute in a kitchen with recipes on it, too. You could do french wine bottles and labels for the back ground. Oh, I hope you do more of these. It could also be a message board for the whole family by the phone or back door.
Great post, girl.
