Welcome to my blog!

Thanks so much for stopping by! I believe that everyone can have a beautiful home without spending a fortune! One of my favorite things to do is find creative ways to re-purpose things I already have on hand, or have picked up at yard sales and thrift stores. Join me as I share with you some of my favorite ideas for crafting and decorating, as well as travel adventures, and fun things that I pick up on my treasure hunts! Much of my work is influenced by my love all things French, nature, and of course shabby chic! I have gotten so many creative ideas from you very talented bloggers out there, and I hope that I can be an inspiration to you as well!

My New View

Hello Ladies!
Sorry that I have been missing in action these past few weeks!  I have missed you all terribly!  Between getting ready for our move to Washington State, having major stress and meltdowns, and a really bad case of the flu (hubby and I have been sick for the last two weeks!), I've not spent any time blogging.  You all are like family to me, so I have really missed you!

Today the movers are here, so we are hanging out in the motor home (which will be our home away from home for the next several weeks).  And, I finally got a laptop computer (welcome to the 21st century!), so I can stay connected, 'til we get to move into our new place!

So, I thought today I would show you the place where we will be calling home (for awhile, anyway).
This is the view of our "backyard", the Pueget Sound.  The Olympia Mountains are in the distance.  The house sits high up on a bluff, and there is a park just a minutes drive away, where we can walk along the rocky beach.  We hope to learn how to catch crabs, as we both love seafood!
This is the front of the house that we are renting.  There are lots of very tall pine trees on the property!
The furniture that you see here is not ours, it will be gone!  I just wanted to show you the view from the living/dining room!
Again, none of this is our furniture.  I was happy to see that there is a fireplace:)
There is a small deck off from the master bedroom.  We hope to see lots of eagles!
Landscaping in the front yard.  I will dearly miss my flower beds here in Michigan, but I am glad that I will have this garden to tend to.
One of the neat things about the property is this little guest cottage!  I think it is so cute!

Yours truly.  This is our deck, where I think we will be spending alot of time!
We are pulling out of here on Sunday, and driving the motor home out there.   It's a long, long way out, and I am a bit nervous about that!  Hopefully we will stay at some campgrounds along the way where I will have an internet connection, so that I can keep in touch with all of you!

This move really is the hardest thing that I have ever had to do!  I love my home state of Michigan.  Leaving family and friends, and the house that I love, that I have called home for the past 11 years is just unbearably difficult for me.  But, I know that we will be back, and we will live in this house again some day.  And knowing that you all are right there, just a click away, really brings me comfort!
I've really missed you all alot (I know, I already said that!), and it feel so good to be back!  Hope you have a great day!!

Donna, honey, you may have been sucked up in a twister but you have landed in Heaven. Just look at that view and the wonderful home away from home. What a massive vacation this is going to be for you. It may be hard, but you are going to have so much fun once you get out there!
Don't you think the little guest cottage would make a great studio for you to do your thing in? Or how about a little shop of your own? The GLITTER PALACE!
I know one thing. You aren't going to have time to feel sorry for yourself- you are going to be so busy washing windows all the time! Bwahahaha!
So looking forward to sharing your adventure with you. Sorry you guys have been sick! That's not fun at all. I have been doing a sinus infection thing here and now my allergies are kicking in. From one thing to another.
Have a safe trip out there and watch out for bears in those parks. Keep an extra box of twinkies on hand.
Hugs- Tete

Hi Donna, this is my first time to your blog and I love it. The reason I stopped in was the remark about moving to WA state. I am moving there as well in late July. You will love downtown Seattle. I am going to be living over by Gig Harbor. Carol
keep in touch and we can commiserate together. LOL

Hi Donna, I really was thinking about you today, wondering how your move was going. How does furry girl Emma like it? I would certainly use that little guest house for a studio. What fun! I live in BC so I'm not too far. Gorgeous view and fresh air. You will love it.

Your rental is AWESOME! I guess if you have to be away for a while, that would be the place to stay!!! What a view!!
Yep...that little cottage looks like the future studio for the "Glitter Queen".
How will John get his plane out there? or did he already fly it there?
Boy, what an adventure for you guys!
I'm sorry you are having a hard time with the move, Donna. I wish I could say something to make you feel better.

You are going to love it. I left CA. and moved north to Oregon. I dont live as close as you do to the water but Im not far. From the top of my hill I see the ocean, 3 blocks away and at nite I can hear it. Theres a lake behind me that I can see some of in winter. But its alot like your home....and it will be peaceful.

That is such a beautiful place that you have found up there. And your moving there at a good time of yr. ...the winter is over and everything should be warming up a bit soon. What a view you have tho.

The year will fly by. We moved, and it was to be for 3-5 years. 13 years later......Anyway, that 13 years has flown by, so you'll back in Michigan before you know it. See it as an adventure, or extended holiday and enjoy the fabulous house with the fabulous views. I'm sure it's going to open up doors to wonderful things.

Hi there! I just heard that you are going to be heading our way (we live in Oregon) and I wanted to welcome you to the NW! :-) I told Diana that you are moving at a great time because summer is around the corner and that is a gorgeous time of year here. Having moved a lot over the years I completely understand what it is like to pick up and start all over again but it sounds like you are trying to look at it as an adventure knowing that there could be amazing things in store for you!
