Welcome to my blog!

Thanks so much for stopping by! I believe that everyone can have a beautiful home without spending a fortune! One of my favorite things to do is find creative ways to re-purpose things I already have on hand, or have picked up at yard sales and thrift stores. Join me as I share with you some of my favorite ideas for crafting and decorating, as well as travel adventures, and fun things that I pick up on my treasure hunts! Much of my work is influenced by my love all things French, nature, and of course shabby chic! I have gotten so many creative ideas from you very talented bloggers out there, and I hope that I can be an inspiration to you as well!

From Gaudy Gold to Glam!

A few weeks ago I shared with you a large and oh so gaudy gold mirror that I found while out thrifting.  I could hardly believe my eyes when I first spotted her, and couldn't wait to go home and transform her with paint!!
So, are you ready for a little sneak peek?
Tada!! What a difference paint makes!
And here she is, below, in all of her former gaudiness!
(the frame looked even more shiny and gaudy in person, if you can believe it!)
And her she is, after her head to toe makeover!
I am in love!
Just look at all of the amazing detail!
Details that were lost in all of that gold!
I think she is oh so much happier now!
While I would love to keep her, for now she's residing in my Etsy shop, if you care to take a look.

Now go out and find something to transform!

What a pretty mirror!
Great makeover, Donna.
I LOVE your photos of Paris!!
Brings back some wonderful memories for me. Sacre-Couer was one of my favorite cathedrals. I remember standing by the gargoyles at Notre Dame....I never understood why they were on a church???
You are so blessed to be able to visit Paris like you do, Donna.
A big hug to you.

She is a beauty, Donna. Great makeover. She was that cheap gold look, too, rather than heavy old ornate looking gold. You did her proud- xo Diana

See...things can look great without glitter! I love it. If I ever get out to rummage sales again, I am nabbing up all this ugly old home interior stuff!
