Welcome to my blog!

Thanks so much for stopping by! I believe that everyone can have a beautiful home without spending a fortune! One of my favorite things to do is find creative ways to re-purpose things I already have on hand, or have picked up at yard sales and thrift stores. Join me as I share with you some of my favorite ideas for crafting and decorating, as well as travel adventures, and fun things that I pick up on my treasure hunts! Much of my work is influenced by my love all things French, nature, and of course shabby chic! I have gotten so many creative ideas from you very talented bloggers out there, and I hope that I can be an inspiration to you as well!

Bird's Nest Peat Pots

I've been at it gain. Crafting with polymer clay.  It is my newest addiction!
I've been showing you the little bird's eggs that I have been creating, as well as some of my tags.  And you already probably know that I have a "thing" for bird's nests! Oh, and peat pots!  So I thought I would combine them all into some fun new creations!
I began by painting some peat pots that I had on hand a very, very pale blue, and of course I just had to add a bit of glitter as well!  I then fashioned  handles from  irridescent chenile stems.  For the trim on this one, I added cute little turquoise mini pom poms, and coordinating gross grain ribbon.  I then filled the pot with some crinkly brown craft paper.  And I lucked out and found the sweetest little real bird's nests for the two pots you see here.  Aren't they just the cutest?   Don't
worry, they are nests from last year.  I didn't steal any little baby birdies home!

Those little birds must have worked so hard to build such amazing nests!  Ok, for the fun part:  I made some more eggs from polymer clay, and painted these a bright aquamarine.  I added some brown speckles, so they look quite realistic, if I do say so myself:)
To the handle I typed on this sweet little clay birdie tag that I made.  The clay has bits of shimmery glitter already added to it, 'cause you all know how much I love glitter:)
I really had alot of fun with this project!
For the second peat pot, I filled the basket with my clay eggs that I painted speckly brown.
 Cute!

I tied the tag on with pretty narrow white lace.
And trimmed the rim with the most adorable mini pom poms in light blue.  Then I added some pretty white cotton lace trim to the top as well.
I'm going to be putting these two pots in my Etsy shop.  Now I need to find another nest so that I can make myself a peat pot as well!
Have a nice week!

OMGosh! You are a mad woman with clay! Clay and glitter. I hope you are having as much fun as it seems. I need to dig out my peat pots...Got the paint to paint them with. Been spraying things already. Got a few projects up my sleeve, too. Not sure if I will be up to doing them, but I am going to try.

Hi Donna,
Your peatpot creations with tags are just the cutest ever. I love them with the real small nests and like real eggs. You are so talented with your clay designs.
The added glitter really makes them pop.

I got some pots at Dollar Tree put have not created with them yet.
Thank you for the inspiration.

I am loving your nest and eggs. My neighbor came over and when she saw the table display with your nest and eggs, she went wild for it.
Have fun my friend and happy creating.
Hugs, CM

Your nest is adorable. I am in a "nest" swap. Almost finished but not happy with the bird I have chosen.
That first picture of your Katie is so cute. I am a spaniel lover and she is just stinkin cute.

Hi, Donna! I just adore those precious peat pot baskets. They always look like so much fun to create as there are no set styles.. you can make it so individual to suit your own tastes! thanks for sharing...!!
