Welcome to my blog!

Thanks so much for stopping by! I believe that everyone can have a beautiful home without spending a fortune! One of my favorite things to do is find creative ways to re-purpose things I already have on hand, or have picked up at yard sales and thrift stores. Join me as I share with you some of my favorite ideas for crafting and decorating, as well as travel adventures, and fun things that I pick up on my treasure hunts! Much of my work is influenced by my love all things French, nature, and of course shabby chic! I have gotten so many creative ideas from you very talented bloggers out there, and I hope that I can be an inspiration to you as well!

I Love Aqua, and a $25 giveaway reminder!

Good Morning Ladies!
Hope everyone had a wonderful and safe holiday!  We had friends over last night for a cookout, and then went out on our pontoon boat to watch the fireworks over the lake.  It was such a pretty display!  One side of the lake seemed to try & outdo each other, and just when we thought the grand finales were thru, they started up again!  It's been very hot & muggy here, so being on the lake, or in the water is about the best place to be right now!

Thought I would share with you today a couple of my latest transformations.  Lest you think I am a one trick pony, and paint everything in site Heirloom White, I have now branched out into color!  My latest love is a color that I mixed out of several different craft paints, and I am calling "antique aqua".
I am so happy with the way these wooden candlesticks turned out!  I've shown you the before shot.  They came in a set of three, but since I was making them for my etsy shop (and they just sold, yeah!!), I thought they might sell better as a pair, and since they are very heavy, I thought postage would be too pricey for all three.  So I still have the largest one to paint yet.

I'm sorry that I couldn't find the before shot of this mirrored wall sconce.  It started out gold, and I can't believe how much better it looks in aqua!  I just sold this one, too :)  And I used Ralph Lauren antiquing glaze in smoke on both of these projects (of course!).

If you haven't already entered my giveaway, please be sure to hop on over to BobbyPinsBoardwalk, where lovely Jan is hosting the giveaway.  One lucky winner will receive $25 credit towards anything in my etsy, and free shipping too! tomorrow is your last day to enter, so good luck!

Hi Donna....that new color is wonderful! I've been adding robin's egg blue to my white rooms....like the addition of another color.
We were out on the lake all afternoon...HOT!
Thank you for visiting today.

I love this color! I think I am going to have to add this to my stash of paints that I keep on hand. I recently bought a berry colored spray paint that I couldn't stop looking at when I went to get my standard black and Heirloom White. I figured, "Oh, just get one can and see how it looks!" Hope to try it out soon, but I don't think it will be the next aqua!
