Welcome to my blog!

Thanks so much for stopping by! I believe that everyone can have a beautiful home without spending a fortune! One of my favorite things to do is find creative ways to re-purpose things I already have on hand, or have picked up at yard sales and thrift stores. Join me as I share with you some of my favorite ideas for crafting and decorating, as well as travel adventures, and fun things that I pick up on my treasure hunts! Much of my work is influenced by my love all things French, nature, and of course shabby chic! I have gotten so many creative ideas from you very talented bloggers out there, and I hope that I can be an inspiration to you as well!

Shabbylicious!

Don't you just love that word?!
I sure do!  (it is a real word, right????)
At any rate, I thought I'd share some of my latest, well, shabby + delicious projects with you!
I was thrilled when my thrifting friend picked me up Blue Boy and Pinkie, in beautiful vintage Italian Syroco like frames.  Originally gaudy gold, I just had to paint them my favorite creamy white color.
I just love the ornate details, and the scalloped inner border.
 Love!
Actually I've got to give credit to hubby for finding this vintage Syroco shelf. It, and the matching mirror (I'll show you that transformation in a future post) was way up high in a dark and very dusty corner of a shop we visited while in Northern Michigan.
Again, it went from gaudy to glam with heirloom white paint and just the right amount of distressing.  I just sold her in my Etsy shop (yeah!).  I really do need to find one for myself to keep one of these days!)
It's so fun to hunt for pretty and unique picture frames, that I can unite with paint.  I really am happy with how my latest set came out.
Both vintage and newer, the frames are full of shabby charm, I think!  The one below is my favorite!  I've placed a sheet of vintage sheet music inside, just for fun!
This sweet oval vintage metal frame is even prettier in person!
 Lots of wonderful details.
And this vintage Burwood frame is so much happier after her makeover!  She was an awful black and gold before I transformed her.  Love all of the ornate swirls and stylized fleur de lis!
As you know, I love making chalkboards from found frames, so I was thrilled to find this beautiful vintage frame recently.  Similar to Syroco, it began life a very boring brown.  I'm always amazed at what a difference paint can make, as all of the gorgeous details really weren't even that noticeable til I painted her!
Hubby cut a piece of masonite to fit, which I covered in chalkboard vinyl.   I've never seen a frame just like this before.  I'm so happy with how she turned out!
I've placed all of these in my Etsy shop, if you'd like to take a peek!
Have a great weekend!

I'm in love with those vintage prints and their new frames!
But I really, really, really love the frames- they would look good hung together on a wall. The oval and diamond each hung inside the rectangles.
Hope you have a great weekend and find more fun things out there while the rummage sales are still going on!

Great job! I love Heirloom White...I use it for everything. Believe it or not, I had that exact frame (in the last photo). Painted it turquoise and gave it to a friend.

Donna- Beautiful, beautiful finds. What great makeovers...even with no glitter in sight! Love that Heirloom white you use-it is the perfect paint for those pieces.

These are beautiful frames, Donna. I have several that need to be painted as well and I better get to it. Thanks for the inspiration.
