Welcome to my blog!

Thanks so much for stopping by! I believe that everyone can have a beautiful home without spending a fortune! One of my favorite things to do is find creative ways to re-purpose things I already have on hand, or have picked up at yard sales and thrift stores. Join me as I share with you some of my favorite ideas for crafting and decorating, as well as travel adventures, and fun things that I pick up on my treasure hunts! Much of my work is influenced by my love all things French, nature, and of course shabby chic! I have gotten so many creative ideas from you very talented bloggers out there, and I hope that I can be an inspiration to you as well!

How to Beat the Heat

Hello!  Hope you all had a good 4th!
Like many of you, we've been experiencing a major heat wave here in Michigan, with temps in the high 90's-low 100's for days and days.  Add the humidity, and it really feels like a sauna!  So, the best place to be right now is in the water!  Our little furry girl Emily doesn't exactly like to swim, but she know just how much better she feels after a quick dip in the lake!
So, she waits for me to get in, then she dutifully dives off the ladder (yes, she really does!  I need to try and get a shot of that!), then does a very quick lap around the pontoon boat.
Just look at her go!  I can't even keep up with her!
Then, believe it or not, she climbs up the ladder all by herself (ok, that's me, "Mother Hen", holding my hand on her back just in case).
 Ahhhhhhh, much better now!
And here she is prior to her swim, showing her patriotism on the 4th!

It sure is rough being a dog:)
Hope you all have a great weekend, and keep cool!

That's the perfect way to stay cool right now. I can't believe how hot it's been in MI. I'm wishing we were back on the shores of Lake MI this week. Darling pics of your dog. When are we going to see pics of your special pontoon? Hugs!

She looks so cute wearing her little flag. How wonderful that water must have felt to her.

Well how cute is that, your dog got out of the water by it's self. Glad you had a good day. We are getting all the same hot temperatures you are in Michigan. It's been high nineties and a 103 today. The worst I have known. And NO breezes:(:( That's unusual out here in the country. Take care stay safe. Smiles, Susie
