Welcome to my blog!

Thanks so much for stopping by! I believe that everyone can have a beautiful home without spending a fortune! One of my favorite things to do is find creative ways to re-purpose things I already have on hand, or have picked up at yard sales and thrift stores. Join me as I share with you some of my favorite ideas for crafting and decorating, as well as travel adventures, and fun things that I pick up on my treasure hunts! Much of my work is influenced by my love all things French, nature, and of course shabby chic! I have gotten so many creative ideas from you very talented bloggers out there, and I hope that I can be an inspiration to you as well!

Camping on the Shores of Lake Michigan

Hello everyone!  Hope you all are having a good day, and keeping cool!
Last week we camped in our motor home in Northern Michigan, in one of our very favorite campgrounds in the state.  The sites are huge, very private, and wooded, there are lots of wonderful hiking trails in the woods, and stairs that lead to a gorgeous white sandy beach on Grand Traverse Bay.  No internet connection for an entire week, though (phooey!)!!! Now that is what I call roughing it:)!
It was a nice and relaxing week, and we even got a welcome break from the heat, til the last two days.
I just love this view of the beach, from the top of the stairs!
One afternoon, we drove to the Old Mission Peninsula and did a bit of wine tasting.  This adorable little school house, dating from the late 1800's, is home to a neat winery.  It even has it's original blackboards and hardwood floors!  You may be surprised to know that our state has many amazing, award winning wineries, that would rival any that we've visited in Sonoma and Napa Valley.
We took our bikes, and of course Emily's little cart!
As a puppy, she hated riding in the cart, and would always try and chew her way out.  Now that she is considered a "senior", she's finally realized that it's fun, and a great way to catch a breeze!
Nothing beats watching the sunset over Lake Michigan.  It was breathtaking!
I've got a few more pictures of our trip that I'll share with you later this week.
So now it's back to heat and humidity, and trying to keep my poor plants and flowers watered!
Enjoy your week!

The sunsets are beautiful. But the pictures of Emily just warmed my heart (and not from the heat, but from love). What precious pictures, she looks so comfortable.

And she is so considerate, making sure you and hubby get your exercise. Giggle.

Oh what fun to ride in an RV! Looks like you had a fun day and you took some great photos!

How's the temperature in MI?

I just finished my dryer sheets mirror that I painted blue. I thought about you. I thought you might like it since like me you love blues!

How fun Donna! What a great way to vacation, and quite a treat to visit a great winery. I would have enjoyed a glass with you, had I been there. :)
Lucky Emily for that sweet ride!
Welcome home.
