From Gaudy to Glam!

Hello Ladies,
You all know how addicted to much I love spray paint!  Heirloom White, in particular!
Well, last week while out hunting for treasures, I nearly jumped up and down with excitement when I spotted a huge vintage syroco candle sconce. And I mean huge!  It measures 35" long, and holds 5 taper candles.  Of course it was the gaudiest of gaudy golds when I discovered it.  So, as soon as I got home, I began her transformation!   I don't want to scare you by showing the "before" first, so I will give you just a glimpse of what she looks like now!
Ok, ladies!  Get your sunglasses out!  This baby was blindingly bright gold!  Wowzer!  At least this time I remembered to take her photo before I got started with her makeover!
Ahhhhhhh!  What a difference paint makes, don't you think?

A bit of distressing reveals all of her wonderful details.  Simply shabbylicious!
I am loving all of her curves!

And the beautiful floral details as well!

I have put this beauty in my Etsy shop, but if she doesn't sell, I've got just the right place for her!

I am linking todays post with Faded Charm, for White Wednesday.
I'm also linking up with Debra over at Common Ground for Vintage Inspiration Friday. Be sure not to miss it!!

  1. I think 2 of my aunt's and my grandma have this in their homes-but they love the gawdy gold! I am in complete agreement with you-paint it white! I came across 5 Syroco pieces at a garage sale last week and picked them up for $1-I was channeling my inner-Donna and knew a good thing when I saw it!!

  4. Yeah and not a speck of glitter. Looks so much better. How much of this stuff is just thrown out? I think you need to head for the local landfill.
