Welcome to my blog!

Thanks so much for stopping by! I believe that everyone can have a beautiful home without spending a fortune! One of my favorite things to do is find creative ways to re-purpose things I already have on hand, or have picked up at yard sales and thrift stores. Join me as I share with you some of my favorite ideas for crafting and decorating, as well as travel adventures, and fun things that I pick up on my treasure hunts! Much of my work is influenced by my love all things French, nature, and of course shabby chic! I have gotten so many creative ideas from you very talented bloggers out there, and I hope that I can be an inspiration to you as well!

Savannah Scenes

Bonjour Ya'll!
We are still here in Savannah enjoying sunny days and warm temps.  A bit cool today, but still much warmer than back at home!
Yesterday we visited the most gorgeous Cathedral of Saint John the Baptist, which is in the heart of historic downtown Savannah.
I just love the beautiful twin steeples, which are visible from a long way off.

We've visited countless magnificent cathedrals thru out Europe, and I must say this one is as equally amazing and beautiful!
My photos really don't do it justice!  The cathedral was built in 1873, and sadly was destroyed by fire in 1898.  Rebuilding began the following year, and was completed in the early part of the 1900's.
Just look at the stunning ceiling, columns and stained glass windows.
The pipe organ in the balcony was huge and very impressive!

I loved all of the hand painted murals, especially this one of Christ, above.
 I had goosebumps!
The stained glass windows were not only huge, but were stunning!  They were made by Austrian stained glass artisans.
Here is another view from the front.  Wish those darn power lines hadn't been in the way!
And here is our home away from home!  While I am missing our own home (which will seem like a mansion after living in our motor home!), I am not missing all of the cold and snow!
The state park we are staying at has the biggest sites we've ever seen.  Huge live oak trees draped in Spanish moss, pine trees, and even occasional palm trees make for a beautiful setting.
My sleepy assistant resting in my "office"!
That's it for now, hope you all have a great weekend!

That cathedral is just beautiful, Donna. I hope you have a wonderful evening there...and stay in GA until this horrible weather blows past! It is coming down fast and furious here. xo Diana

Who is the assistant? Who's office? Seems to me you have those positions confused.

Happy Weekend.

Honey, you may want to stay down there until the 3rd week of March, the way the weather is going here. I love your camp ground area. I would love to stay in a camper and enjoy great times. Such fun. The cathedral is awesome. I would absolutely go see that if I go to Savannah. Take care and be safe. xoxo,Susie

Amazing artwork. Can you imagine being up there working on that? How long did it take to get all the details in there? Those windows are just awesome. I love your secretary. The lots are huge for a camping area. You don't want to come home just yet. We are getting clobbered again tomorrow. I am so ready to head south and meet up with you.

Hi Donna, Love seeing the gorgeous cathedral pics. The stained glass windows and art is amazing. I can imagine in person it is stunning.
Your home away from home site is beautiful and looks so comfy to set outside and enjoy the warm temps. Thankfully you are missing the cold and snow of Michigan.
Sweet Katie is a little darling sitting in your office. How fun to see where you compute.
Enjoy the day and the nice weather. It is predicted to be gorgeous here today too, but begin a cold front tomorrow.
Happy March~~~~~
Hugs!!

Enjoy your time down South. You really do have the best adventures. Seriously, there is no reason to hurry back to our state anytime soon. More snow is falling. Happy March 1st.

The cathedral is simply stunning!

It has begun to snow (again) with 2-4" predicted in our area. I do hope there won't be that much, though.

Keep having fun!

Oh, this cathedral is just stunning Donna! It actually reminds me a little bit of my church here in Beverly, MA, which was built around the same time (although the stained glass is not quite as amazing).
You lucky girl to be in Savannah again for that warm weather.
Enjoy it while you can, and hopefully when you return spring will be upon us. :)

How awesome to have an office in your traveling home!
Stay south...it's still snowing in Michigan, and so very cold!
Keep sending us pictures of the warm places you visit.
