Welcome to my blog!

Thanks so much for stopping by! I believe that everyone can have a beautiful home without spending a fortune! One of my favorite things to do is find creative ways to re-purpose things I already have on hand, or have picked up at yard sales and thrift stores. Join me as I share with you some of my favorite ideas for crafting and decorating, as well as travel adventures, and fun things that I pick up on my treasure hunts! Much of my work is influenced by my love all things French, nature, and of course shabby chic! I have gotten so many creative ideas from you very talented bloggers out there, and I hope that I can be an inspiration to you as well!

Asking for Your Prayers

I don't often share personal matters here, but today I come asking for your prayers for my Mom. Yesterday, her beloved miniature schnauzer Jenny died.  Jenny would have been 10 in September, and was the light of my Mom's life, and a huge part of the family.  On Wednesday night, Jenny suffered a terrible seizure that lasted at least 1/2 hour.  My sister and Mom rushed her to the vet.  She then was taken to an animal hospital yesterday, where an MRI revealed that Jenny had suffered a massive stroke, which then caused the seizure.  She passed away yesterday at the hospital, and my sister, Mom and I went to get Jenny and bring her home.  It was one of the saddest, most heartbreaking things I have ever witnessed.
Jenny was so healthy and active and loving, right up til the very end.  She never met a soul she didn't love.  This comes as a total shock.  The last time I saw her was Tuesday, and she was her usual frisky and playful self.
My mom, who is 85 and has moderate dementia, is devastated and shocked.  So are we.  She keeps forgetting why they took Jenny to the vet in the first place.  I worry what this loss will do to her.  Jenny was such a huge comfort to my Mom when we lost my Dad 8 years ago to leukemia.
Could you please pray for comfort and peace for my Mom?  It really means alot. Thank you so much.

I am so sorry for your loss. I know that Jenny was such a loyal companion for your mom and she will be so missed. These babies are like little angels, sent to take care of us through the bad times, and Jenny sure did her job well. God has something better planned for your mom to come. Maybe someone else needs her love and cuddles just like Jenny did. I will pray for your mom, that God's hand brings her peace and comfort until he reveals his next part of the bigger plan.
So glad you are home to help her through this. Prayers for you, too.

Hi Donna,
Oh gosh, this is awful and I know what you mean because my mom's dog, Sugar, is everything to her...and has been such great company since my dad passed away. I can't even believe that your mom's Jenny went so fast...it is unbelievable. Of course, I will pray...Our little pups are our world, aren't they? And I know that your mom must be so shocked by her being gone. xo Cin

My prayers are with you and your mom! We have a mini schnauzer and he is the light of my hubby's life! I got Reuben (our pup) when my hubby retired and he had heart problems and had bi-pass surgery. I know your mom is so loss without her Jenny. Try animal rescue and try and get her another puppy. It will help take her mind off Jenny.
