Welcome to my blog!

Thanks so much for stopping by! I believe that everyone can have a beautiful home without spending a fortune! One of my favorite things to do is find creative ways to re-purpose things I already have on hand, or have picked up at yard sales and thrift stores. Join me as I share with you some of my favorite ideas for crafting and decorating, as well as travel adventures, and fun things that I pick up on my treasure hunts! Much of my work is influenced by my love all things French, nature, and of course shabby chic! I have gotten so many creative ideas from you very talented bloggers out there, and I hope that I can be an inspiration to you as well!

Show Business!

Bonjour, Ladies!
Hope you all have had a great week.  I have some very exciting news!  I am going to be participating in
the Retreat Vintage Market, on Camano Island, Washington, on June 25th!  I just found out about the market the other day, and emailed the woman who hosts the show, along with her husband, on their farm.  I had hoped to book a spot for their upcoming September show.  Imagine my surprise when she promptly emailed me back, saying that a vendor had cancelled for the June show, and she had one spot available!  I about fainted!  I had sent her the link to my Etsy shop, so that she could get an idea of the type of work that I do.  Well, she liked my work, and said that they would be happy to have me as part of their show! I figured that was an opportunity that I just couldn't pass up!  Camano Island is just right across the Puget Sound, and it is what we see when we look out our windows!
So, I am super excited, and super nervous, too!  I've done shows in the past, but nothing of this caliber!  So, my mind is just spinning with ideas, and things that I need to do and figure out!  I feel honored that as a new kid in town, they would like me to come aboard!  The main thing that I need to figure out is creative display and merchandising of my goods!  That to me seems the most intimidating!

So, if any of you ladies have any suggestions, or have participated in shows before and could give me some tips, I would greatly appreciate it!  For the next several weeks I may not be on here quite as much, as I will be a busy bee preparing for the show.  I've had trouble leaving comments on some of your blogs these past few days (I sure wish that Blogger would get things ironed out!).  So do know that I have been visiting, but may not get a chance to visit as often as I'd like for the next three weeks!

You can read a bit about the show here.  Also, if you happen to be in the area, and plan on attending the show, I would love for you to stop in and visit me and my Shabby Chateau!  Now I've got to hustle and get back to my painting and glittering!

Have a great weekend!

Hi there - hope all is well. How exciting. I wish that I lived nearby - I would definitely come out and help you. I would suggest that you do your pedestals with labels, your trays, some bottles and your beautiful syrocco frames painted in aqua. Thats my vote!!

That's fabulous, Donna. I'm thrilled for you. You're definitely going to be super busy. It's all about staging your booth for big sales. An inviting booth, is a selling booth.

Hey - Some advice about blogger. Try clearing ALL your cookies and ALL you cache files. Shut down the browser and restart it. Then hit F5 to refresh all the files. Good luck.

I'm really happy for you..and a bit envious, truth be told...so many shows here are sold out months in advance.
But it has happened to me, too, to get a cancelled spot, serendipity always being our best friend, when least expected! I'd love to come and see the show and visit *sigh* maybe some day..
Have a wonderful, successful show-I know you'll do well!♥

Congratulations, Donna. I know you will do a great job. If you can find some old doors and/or those old louvered shutter style closet doors and hinge them together they make great backgrounds...they fold out like a screen so don't take up a lot of storage space...plus if you find the louvered ones you can use hooks for display. I KNOW you are going to do a great job! xoDiana

Oh Donna, how exciting for you!
I remember how apprehensive you were about moving, and now look at you!!!
This is a great opportunity to build your business.
You go girl!
With all the glitter that will be flying, you might want to wear safety glasses.
Does that mean you will be setting up a studio in the little guest cottage? hmmmm?
Love ya.
