Hello and Happy Saturday!
Ok, I am looking at my calendar as I type this, and I just realized that Christmas is 3 weeks from today! Yikes! Can you believe it?? I am amazed at how quickly the time goes by during the holiday season!
I've been showing you the glittered paper roses that I've been creating to adorn everything from tags to ornaments. Well, today I'm going to share with you a wreath that I made for my Etsy shop that I've embellished with the roses. I fashioned the roses from sheets of vintage German sheet music (circa 1970's). I would love to some day find some French sheet music, though I was more than excited to discover the German music last month at our library's book sale.
Ok, I'm a bad blogger here, as in my excitement to paint and glitter it, I neglected to take a photograph of this wreath "before"! I'm sure many of you ladies can relate! Anyway, the wreath was just ok, nothing terribly exciting, so I took it outside and gave it a dusting of Heirloom White! Yes, I am fearless when it comes to spray paint, I paint just about everything!! Since I live in a cold climate, I am losing my window of opportunity to spray paint, though. I am so envious of you ladies who dwell in warm climates, and can spray paint year round! Lucky you!! So, once I was finished with the wreaths (I made two of them), I quickly brought them inside and hung them in our nice and toasty utility room for drying. Oh, I almost forgot to mention that while the paint was still wet, I gave the wreathes a generous dusting of Martha Stewart glitter! Outside, of course!!
I really love how the wreathes turned out! The paint and the glitter gives them the appearance of being dusted with snow and frost! So ethereal looking, I think! The addition of the rhinestones in the center of the roses adds even more bling!!
I also added some flocked greenery that I disassembled from a faux swag. Can you see the tiny little glittered white snowflakes that I also added? Love!
I think the wreathes would also be pretty used as a candle ring, like I've shown here. I added them to my Etsy shop, if you'd like to check it out.
Have a great weekend, can't wait to check out all of your blogs from some great Christmas ideas!

ReplyDeleteIt's divine. I love your paper glittered roses.
ReplyDeleteOh wow, Donna, this is exquisite!!!! What a gorgeous creation!!!!
ReplyDeleteYour flair for "all things beautiful" is amazing!!!

Oh my gosh, I love this! So glittery and wintery and fabulous! I love the various textures in it. Ditto on using it for a candle holder...
ReplyDeleteSo pretty...your roses make this wreath! What a nice embellishment!!
ReplyDeleteDonna- That is wonderful! I love it. I would love to find some of that old sheet music. I have a big box of it but is all the stuff that has the pretty printed covers from the early 1900's thru the 1950's so I don't want to destroy it.
ReplyDeleteI can't believe you are still able to spray paint outside though! It is too cold here. Okay..here is my "secret"...I moved my car outside and covered the little one with drop cloths and opened the front and back garage doors about a foot and spray painted a cabinet inside...about an hour before MyHero was getting home. After I was done...OH MY GOSH! There was a fine little "dust" over the whole floor (around where I had put all the drop cloths down...and thought I was being so good doing it). So, then I had to grab the big old broom and just kinda give everything a swish so that you couldn't see the "lines" where the cloths were. And then I had to get the piece moved so he could pull his car in. Walked outside and walked back in and I thought OH NO..IT SMELLS LIKE FRESH PAINT in here. So..I opened both doors all the way to air it out & then rushed to put the doors back down before he got home.
He came home after I had it aired and came in the house and asked...What's that smell in the garage? It smells like paint or shellac..Were you PAINTING OUT THERE (cue rising voice level). I started laughing and said Well, OF COURSE I WAS- I spray painted a cabinet-Of course I would spray paint in the garage in the winter! (hmmm-tell the truth and make a joke of it and hope it distracts him). It did-He said...Well, I don't know what it is but it SMELLS like paint to me. Hmmm...I'll go check it out a bit later I tell him. (Whew-saved by the skin of my teeth)
Hey-Have a nice Saturday!:>) Diana
Hi Donna, those wreaths are so pretty! LOVE it used as a candle ring!
ReplyDeleteThe lake and canals are froze over up here.
Hope you are enjoying your Saturday!
Hugs,

Such a gorgeous wreath!!
ReplyDeleteOOOOH, I feel so woozy...
ReplyDeleteI may have to start spiking my egg nog to come here.
Bwahahahaha!
My window of painting is gone here. I use box flats to clear coat things, and I can run out on the porch and spray, then bring it back in to dry.
I put up some more snow photos- it is so pretty here!
Hope your weekend is a good one for you!
Hugs- Tete
I love it as a candle ring! And as always, love the glittery flowers! :)

Very beautiful wreath.
ReplyDeleteI too am missing warm weather when it was so much easier to spray paint. I have so many ideas running around and I'm finding it a bit hard to spray paint in the snow!
These are so pretty! I'm totally obsessed with wreaths at the moment. I love the look of them - and so versatile too! I'm having a Wreath Week next week, if you fancy apeek (and, oooh, that rhymed!).
ReplyDeleteHave a lovely weekend,
Sarahx
Just layin it all out here....THAT IS SO FREAKING AWESOME!!!
ReplyDeleteA fine job..and, just this once, I'll agree that white was indeed the perfect choice..I like all my Christmas stuff with a dusting of white..and glitter is the "icing" on the white!
ReplyDeleteI think they turned out wonderfully..
Happy holiday decorating!
One word............STUNNING!
