Bonjour Mes Amis!
Last week I shared with you my lucky find, a very large, very ornate mirror.
I could hardly wait to get busy transforming her with some paint and just a bit of distressing.
Now, she has a whole new look!
Are you ready for her big reveal..................?
Voila! I know, a huge surprise that I've painted her my favorite creamy white!
And if you forgot what the "before" was like, here she is sans paint:
While still very pretty and elegant, it just wasn't the look I was going for.
I knew I would love her even more once transformed, but even I am amazed at what a difference
paint makes!
Aren't the ornate details amazing? My camera just doesn't do her justice!
And while I would dearly love to keep this beauty, we really don't have the perfect spot to hang it.
So, I will be putting her in my Etsy shop later today.
In the mean time, though, we can still enjoy her for awhile!
Looks like she came straight out of Versailles, I think!!
Au revoir!
Donna, That is very pretty. I like that creamy color on it. I have a plastic mirror so similar...it was one of those Home Interior things. My sister bought it long ago for my mom. She gave it to me and I have it hanging in the powder room. It takes up the whole wall.LOL. I bet that mirror will sell fast. I may take mine down and paint it. :) Blessings, xoxo,Susie
ReplyDeleteShe is beautiful. I would be making room for her somewhere. She is way to pretty to sell. You did an amazing job on her.
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for sharing her with us. Like how I named her, her. LOL
Have a great week,
Hugs,
Mary
Wow Donna she is looking pretty with her creamy complexion and some lucky someone will adore her... But till then enjoy her pretty new look.

ReplyDeleteHi Donna, LOVE the mirror in her new color. Just gorgeous. She is going to find a new home quick!! The details of the frame are stunning and I can appreciate the work involved to paint in all the carved areas. Really a pretty piece of artwork on the wall. Beautifully transformed!!

You've turned that mirror into a thing of beauty, Donna.

She is gorgeous in her new paint color.
ReplyDeleteYep, I knew I would love that mirror even more if it was painted a la Donna! It is such a great size and will really make a statement for some lucky buyer. Hope your week is going great!

It turned out beautifully, Donna! You have such a good eye for making things even better!
ReplyDeleteThat is so pretty...I can't believe you are letting her go! Love the color you picked. Its is metal and heavy? Looks like it would weigh a ton! I love that big chunky look!
ReplyDeleteDonna, it would be hard for me to let her go. I love mirrors and when I see one as ornate as this one, I have to have it! There is nothing I enjoy more than re-doing mirrors.

Hi Donna,
ReplyDeleteAre you sure you want to let her go? Mirror mirror on the wall who's the fairest of them all? I think it's answer is you my dear. You gave it a whole new feel softening its harder darker edges and such a beautiful fit for your home.
Perhaps while its in your home you can place it here and there to see how it speaks to you, and see if it settles in.
I have such a mirror that I painted to sell and it just worked out that it wanted to stay, it gets moved about with changes now and then.
You did her justice and she loves you for it.
Will wait to see a post with your wonderful mirror hanging somewhere :)
See you soon.
Xx

Oh Donna....how can you part with THE MIRROR? It is so beautiful! I would do a room just for that mirror! lol
ReplyDeleteI've been waiting for this post. I was sure you were going to keep this one. What a great French/Country accent this would make.....rustic/elegance...aahhhhh. Is it heavy?
BTW, I received my package. Thank you for your thoughtfulness in sending the magazine, Donna. And for the tags, and plaques. You have such a tender heart. I appreciate you soooo much, dear friend.
Love to you.
