Vintage Inspired Easter Banner

With all of the cold and snowy weather many are experiencing all around the country, Easter and signs of spring sure seem a long way off!
It's a cold and rainy day here in Savannah, but at least it's warmer than it is back home!
So today I thought I would try and give you a little springy lift by sharing with you my Easter banner that I just made.
One of my favorite things to do when we travel in the motor home is create with paper!
I found a black chipboard banner a few weeks ago at Hobby Lobby, and at 1/2 off, I just had to pick one up!
This is my first attempt at "pennant style" banners, and I had so much fun with it!
I also had fun with my mini photo shoot inside of our motor home:)

I first searched for cute vintage Easter graphics on Pinterest, and found so many, it was hard to chose which ones that I wanted to use!  I printed out some of my favorites, then cut the out.
Using just a glue stick, I covered the fronts of each pennant with vintage sheet music, and the backs with pretty scrap
booking paper in pastel shades.
With the same scrap book paper, I cut out a scalloped edge and glued to the tops of each pennant, then added the sweet Easter images.

I strung them all together with pale pink crinkly seam binding, and am so happy with how my first pennant attempt turned out!
You can't see it well in the photos, but I used "stickles" clear iridescent glitter glue to add a shimmery touch here and there.
(because you can never have too much glitter!)
And to bottom every other pennant I added a glittery silk pale yellow blossom.
Isn't this little bunny, below, just the cutest ever?!
I think it will look perfect hanging from the hutch in my craft room.
I can hardly wait to make more!
Soon we will be heading back to the frozen tundra of the midwest!
I have a feeling that spring will be a long time coming in Michigan!
Thanks for visiting today, I hope my post helped not only inspire you to create a banner, but give you hope for the spring to come!

Did you take a printer with you or did you go to an office supply house to print the images out? They are DARLING images! So cute. As I was reading I was thinking...uh...oh...what's she gonna do for glitter in a motor home? lol I see you got that figured out.
Have a great rest of the day. We didn't get much above zero out here by the bay today. ugh. xo Diana

  7. Donna I adore your Easter banner. First attempt is amazing and all your embellishments pretty. You're right about glitter! I think the bunny images are precious and the music sheets really highlight the pretty soft Spring colors. Seems the entire country is locked into an arctic blast but we all are daydreaming of Spring.

  14. Donna, the banner really turned out lovely---so "Easter-y" and delicate looking that it doesn't look like paper! Really, really pretty--very creative, too! I love it!

  15. I really love the banner...I may have to copy that myself! I love the images you picked and on the sheet music. I think I found something to keep me busy now that I am sick and not feeling so well. This I could putter with as I can. Thank you so much for all of you inspiration!

  16. I love this idea. Thanks for the inspiration, Donna. We drove to our aframe cottage last night and the pipes from our well into the house were frozen. No water! With our extreme negative temps, it’s not surprising, but very disappointing. I’m definitely ready to help Mother Nature find spring!
