Like so many of you, I just can't seem to get enough of white, cream, and all shades in between!
So today I thought I'd share with you some of my latest creations, all painted my favorite creamy color! We are still down here camping in Savannah, and I've managed to work on quite a few projects at the campground (I told you I needed my projects to be happy!).
The first are a pair of vintage candle sconces by Homco. I just love all of their gorgeous details, such as the fleur de lis and floral motifs!
Aren't these little birdies cute? They are cast iron, and make the sweetest coat hooks, I think!
Also made of cast iron is this neat fleur de lis hook. Of course I had to distress all of the creations that you see here. It gives them what I like to refer to as "that aged over time look"!
More fleur de lis fun here with a pretty metal easel. (love!) In the background you can get a glimpse of the base of our very own palm tree that we have on our site!
It can be a bit challenging to find just the right spot here at the campground to take photos of my work that's going in my Etsy shop. But where there is a will, there's a way!
I love shelves, so I'm always on the hunt for more that I can transform with a little paint and tlc. This pair was a very borning dark brown, til I got my hands on them! I brought all of these pieces from home to transform while on our trip. Our motor home has a surprising amount of storage. In fact, our bed lifts up to reveal a ton of storage beneath it, which is where I've been stashing most of my craft projects!
I also love finding pretty picture frames to paint. Ooops, I forgot that I found this beauty here at a thrift shop in downtown Savannah.
I added a vintage French book page, just for fun!
You can see all of these creations in my

(I'm operating a mini version of my shop while on the road!!), if you care to take a peek!

You have been busy, even on your vacation! But I think you are having fun while you are having fun!

You look like you are having fun creating while you're on vacation, too! Everything is SO lovely, but the little frame and book page are my very favorite!
ReplyDeleteHi Donna, I just love all your new treasures you are creating while on vacation and you are doing some thrifting too.
ReplyDeleteAll the creamy whites are beautiful. I just love the frame with the french book page.
Have fun and enjoy every minute.
Hugs, Celestina Marie
Your creativity is fabulous! Love the little easel! A mini shop on the road, how fun!
ReplyDeletehugs, Linda
I am so glad you were able to do some projects on vacation. Did the peeps around you think you were nuts when you started spray painting around the old campfire??;>)
ReplyDeleteYou do beautiful work, Donna. And how great that you could find things to work on~ xo Diana
I used to take my paints and wood camping and take up the whole picnic table in the afternoons. It was the most peaceful place to create. Looks like you are having a good time even if you aren't in the thrift stores all the time.
ReplyDeleteOh, a good thrift shop in Savannah.. do tell where! And isn't it fun searching for these shops and antique malls while on vacation? Love spending my time this way and I see you do, too!! Great finds!
ReplyDeleteThat frame is terrific. I love all your white accesories and you did a great job distressing them. I can't believe you are crafting while on vacation. That must be one of the perks of having a motor home. Have fun on your trip.
ReplyDeleteI love that you are creating even while you are traveling and camping. Good for you.
ReplyDeleteYou are too funny - painting on vacation?! A girl after my own heart. Your white makeovers are just gorgeous! I'm dying over here b/c it's been too cold to paint. =(

Fun and inspiring! I ahve some things I'd like to paint ...trying to get out of the scared mode, but I did get some ideas about what I can start with that might help me overcome my fears...I will start small with similar items to yours...a hook maybe..
ReplyDeleteThanks from the bottom of my heart!
Betsy
Glad to see you're a happy girl creating away down south! These whites are indeed dreamy. Love the French book page in that frame.
ReplyDeleteHave fun Donna! I'm jealous of that palm tree as I stare out at dirty snow. :)
Your post was definitely dreamy! We love the same things. I'm off to check out your Etsy shop :) Thanks for your visit to my blog and your kind words. Have a great week! ~Lorraine ♥♥♥
ReplyDeleteI was just thinkin' and that can be dangerous....
ReplyDeleteIt would be neat to write a book...creating and camping...not that name but something frenchy....give names and addresses of the different shops you visit and your creations...I don't think I have seen a book like that
I always felt that creating was vacation.
Have soooooo enjoyed all your posts.
hugs
have fun

ReplyDeleteYou are such a funny girl! Even while on vacation you are doing your crafts. But I guess you are doing what you love, while doing what you love.
