Let's Visit a Fly In Winery!

Bon Jour, Mon Amis!
Have you ever heard of a fly in winery?  Well, there is one here in Michigan that I'd been wanting to visit, so that's just what hubby and I did yesterday afternoon!
Just a short 15 minute flight from home, and we were at Chateau Aeronautique Winery!
What a pleasant surprise it was! We've visited countless wineries over the years, both here in the US and in Europe, but I must say that this is the first one we have actually flown to!
 This was our ride there!
The winery, which uses grapes grown exclusively in Michigan, was in situated in an airpark.  An airpark is a private runway that people actually live on, and their hangers are attached to their homes.  Kind of like very, very big garages!
Anyway, this cute gazebo houses the tasting room.
Just look at the weather vain!  How fun is that?
I wish that I had gotten a photo of the inside of the tasting room, but there were quite a few people inside, and I didn't want to invade their privacy by posting their photos here!  Anyway, this gorgeous massive chandelier hung over the tasting bar.  Love it!
We met the owner, Lorenzo, who was very friendly and knowledgeable.  Not only is he a private pilot, but he also flies internationally for Delta, so he and hubby had alot to talk about!

He showed us his private tasting room (though we did our tasting in the gazebo).  Love the wine crate border. What a fun idea!
Lorenzo left no detail overlooked, even the rest room was gorgeous! (I couldn't resist the urge to snap a few shots there!).  Look at this gorgeous crystal sconce!
I bet I'm the only visitor there who had to take a picture of the potty!
We were so pleasantly surprised by Chateau Aeronautique!  We imagined a tiny, dark and dusty spot in a hanger.   Instead, we discovered a beautiful and elegant winery, which we can't wait to visit again!

And here is my cute pilot hubby, ready to take me home!
Hope you have a great week!
