Hello Ladies,
Happy Mother's Day! I hope that if you are a mom, you are doing something special today with your families! I really miss my mom back home in Michigan! Of course we can talk on the phone alot, but it's just not the same as being there! At any rate, I hope that you all have a wonderful day!
Yesterday, hubby and I went out exploring our new area. We had planned on going to a tulip festival, but not only was it freezing cold and pouring rain, but when we got there, we discovered that we should have atttended last week! All of the tulips were "kaput"! We did manage to find the cutest little shop in a former barn!
While I didn't take any photos of the inside (the owner was right there, and I felt funny asking her!!), I did get some shots outdoors of her cute little vignettes. I really love how she repurposed everything from old buckets and chairs into flower planters.
Is this cute or what?!
And I really love this chair (above ) turned planter. How fun!!
I was in love with the vintage three tired cart, too!
Lots and lots of vintage cuteness!I thought this was such a fun idea: old spindles painted vibrant colors, with tea cups filled with bird seed!
Another fun and creative vignette. Love the red child's chair!
I also was super excited to discover my first garage sale of the season, and bought several treasures to redo. I'll save that for another post, though!
Then it was on to the quaint little waterside town of La Conner. I had several people tell me not to miss it, and I'm so glad we went!
Ok, we may have missed the tulip festival, but in La Conner, there were gorgeous tulips everywhere! And pretty and quaint old buildings, too!
I loved this "secret" hidden courtyard! We stopped here and had the best house made sea food chowder! My mouth is watering just at the thought!
I just had to snap this shot of the cute little old fireplace in the restaurant. Not sure if it shows well in the photo, but it was painted lavender! Love!
And on the way home, we stopped at a couple of road side markets. Check out these gorgeous tulips!
That's it for today, hope you have a wonderful Mother's Day!!
What a fun day trip!!! I loved the little shop...such cute things. The teacup on the spindle is just what I needed to see. I bought an old spindle at an estate sale a few months ago and couldn't think of anything cute to do with it...Now I know!!! Love all the tulips!!!

Love that you had a nice day, Donna- even if you did miss the Tulip Show! Guess what? Snohomish , WA is the first place I ever got coffee at a drive through coffee shop. My friend, Judy got me hooked. I came home and told MyHero that we should buy a franchise and set up a coffee "booth". He laughed. 10 years later they were on every corner...and we have 4 Starbucks withing 10 miles!
ReplyDeleteLove that little place you found and the seafood chowder looks wonderful!! xxoo Diana
Looks like a great day!! And tulips are my favorite...so I would have loved to see all the beautiful flowers!
