We Finally Made it To Washington!

Hello Ladies!
After a week on the road, and over 2,300 challenging miles, we have finally made it to Washington State!

I wanted to upload some photos of the Columbia River Gourge that we stopped at today, but my internet connection is extremely slow, and wouldn't let me.  phooey! So I will try again tomorrow.

We took a slight detour, and headed to the Yakima Valley and visited some wineries today.  So, we only have about 150 more miles to go, yeah!!! We are staying at a  glorified parking lot campground  in Yakima, and then will head to the campground that we will call home until we are able to move into our house in about 1 1/2 weeks. It has been a long week, full of some hair raising, white knuckle moments on the road (major wind, where I thought for sure our motor home was going to tip over!).  I wanted to thank you all for your thoughts and prayers during not only this time on the road, but for the move itself, which has been a very challenging one for me!  I appreciate it more than you will ever know!  And I really miss you all, and look forward to getting back into blogging mode full time, where I can visit you, and catch up with what you are doing!

Hope you are having a great weekend, looking forward to seeing what you all have been up to!

  1. So glad you are so close now. Wind and motor homes do not mix at all! Been praying for your safety and for your sanity.
I have been up to quite a bit since you have been roaming across country, but none of it has anything to do with glitter. That's the only clue you're getting. You will just have to come and see me! LOL
Big hugs, girl- You are doing good!

I'm really anxious to see your new "Chateau" all prettied up.

  8. Hi Donna!!
I've been thinking about you! I read your last post and it brought back memories of our trip. I have to say though i loved the prairies. Everyone said to us how we would find the Priairies so boring all that flat land. Well it was the dead of winter and i found it so calming and beautiful ...really! I remember it was -32 snow blowing and cattle on the lands and it was so pretty but cold.
I know adjusting is going to be tough it takes along time but I'm here to encourage you on! I know what you are going through!!

  9. Very excited for you, Donna..I know that you will remember your road trip more fondly in the future..reminiscing does that favour for us, the rose coloured glasses just pop on automatically..can't wait to hear your thoughts, once you are actually settled in your new home.
I'm in the middle of moving, too -just down the road, you may have gone to Chemainus (the little village with all the wonderful murals?) but a very different destination than my current one, with my own little mini-garden area, so very happy to be "upgrading" in that sense!
May we both have a good move and contentment when we "make landfall"!♥

  12. I'm glad you made it to Washington safe and sound. Driving while it is windy is never fun, I can't imagine it in a motorhome.
