Yo-Yo Quilt

Hello and happy Thursday!

Today I wanted to share with you a yo-yo quilt that I finally finished!  Now, I am not a seamstress.  As a matter of fact, I hate sewing!  But, I really enjoyed sewing these little yo-yos!  This was a project that I started many years ago, then put away and practically forgot about.  Every time I came across it, I felt so guilty for never having finished it.  Tell me I'm not the only one who does this!  Anyway, I decided to give it to my nephew and his soon to be bride as part of their wedding gift.  I bought them something on their wedding registry, but I wanted to give them something additional that had some meaning. She loves hand created treasures, so I am hoping that she'll love this.  I made it lap quilt size, and I think it would look pretty at the foot of a bed, on the back of a couch, or draped on a chair.  Or even used as a tablecloth.

Here it is on my wicker love seat.
A close up shot.

And folded and draped on the arm of my wicker chair.  I really love how it has a sweet vintagey-cottagey look.  (ok, I know those aren't proper words, but I like to make things up sometimes just for fun!)
This is totally non-related to my quilt, but I thought I would show you a few pictures of some little visitors we had to our yard today.  Look closely and you will see a little baby bunny eating up all of my dill!  I used to have two nice rows of dill, that is until these little rabbits came along!  Our garden is right off our deck behind our house, so our dog was going nuts looking out the window at them!
Sorry for the poor picture quality here, I just thought this little guy was so cute sitting next to our hot tub.  this is just steps away from our back door!  What a brave little bunny!

That's it for today!  I am gearing up for Michigan's longest garage sale, which starts tomorrow, I can hardly wait!
I am joining the following linky parties. Be sure to visit for lots of great inspirations!

Oh, I love the yoyo quilt! I have a bag of yoyo's that I ave been working on for, oh I don't know, 13 years? LOL I need to put them all together and do something with them. I also enjoy making the yoyo's but, finishing it up, I just haven't done it. Yours is beautiful!

  9. Oh wow, Donna, your quilt is beautiful! I'd love to make one as a gift some time...Did you make the little pinwheels too? I know that probably sounds dumb, but they look really hard to make! This is one gorgeous creation--and what a magnificent gift...It looks so good on the back of your wicker piece...
    And I love bunnies...what a precious visitor.
    Hugs,
    Cindy
