Today I made a card for my mom, and the first thing I did was head over to the Graphics Fairy for some inspiration. The hardest part was picking out just one image! Karen has so many beautiful images to chose from, so I finally decided on this very sweet baby fairy! Isn't she cute?! After printing her out, I cut out the image with my favorite pair of scalloped edge scissors, then glued her to some pretty scrapbooking paper. I also used "zots", which I am crazy about. Have you ever tried them? They really stick!Since I love glitter (you can never have too much glitter, in my opinion!), I used some of my dimensional paper glaze by Alene, to outline the doves, and the fairy's wings and little floral crown. I then sprinkled some of my Martha Stewart glitter in clear, and the most pretty shade of green onto the dimensional glaze. I wanted to add a bit of embellishment with a flower brad, but the only ones I had were bright orange and gold. Definitely not what I had in mind. So, since I'm a use what you've got kinda girl, I bleached out the flower! That's right, bleached it out! I just dabbed a little bit of bleach on the petals, and voila, they turned a pretty soft creamy yellow! Much better! Don't worry, it doesn't smell like Chlorox! I bleached it out a couple of days ago! The final touch was tying on some pretty green vintage seam binding that I found at an estate sale a few weeks ago. I love the look of seam binding! I would have never thought to use it in crafting 'til I saw it all over blogland! Anyway, I had fun making this card. It was quick & easy (my kind of project!), and I think Mom will like it too!
I am linking this project up to the Graphic's Fairy Brag Monday.
